Easter in the Greenhouse!

It's time to get out into the local greenhouses and get your Easter flowers!   LFLF picked up an Easter lily, but no pictures since the buds aren't open yet ..... which is what you want the weekend before ....... that way there are no wilting or shriveled buds on the holiday.  :)
Happy Easter!

More Local Food - Local Farms

LFLF visited the  Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show today and unexpectantly came upon 2 local food products.   The first was Mish Farms Meat Market, Inc. from the Gibsonia area.  Since we didn't plan to purchase perishable food, we didn't have a cooler, so we had to by-pass the meats.  Too bad!  :(
Then we found Miller's Mustard, also from Gibsonia.   This tasted great as a dip and also mixed with cream cheese as a spread on crackers.   A jar of the mild mustard made the journey home with us.  We probably would have gotten one or two more jars, but didn't want to carry them all around the show with us!   The good news is that after looking at their web-site, this product can be found all around us at grocery and specialty stores .......... they are also a PA Preferred partner.

Food in Season!

LFLF had a chance to visit the Beaver County Fruit & Garden Center on this sunny Saturday.  The "gadget" on the right side of this blog says that no local foods are in season now in early March.   MUSHROOMS are always in season here in Pennsylvania ...... we're the #1 state in mushroom production.   These mushrooms nestled in the snow came from Keystone Mushroom on the other side of the state.
We also picked up a dozen lady locks from a local baker ...... Carol's Cakes
